Explore Benefits of Lymphatic Massage

Liposuction Recovery

Patients often experience swelling, bruises, and soreness after liposuction procedures such as SmartLipo, Vaser Liposuction, Tumescent Liposuction, revision liposuction, and fat transfers.  Swelling and soreness can last anywhere from 4 weeks to one year post-op, while bruises tend to go away after two weeks.  The most common feedback from patients who have undergone liposuction is "I feel so sore, as if I did a million squats."  Getting manual lymphatic drainage massage is an excellent choice for post liposuction recovery because it is soothing for the sore body, reduces seroma, edema pockets, and prevents fibrosis.  Lymphatic massage techniques are gentle and stimulates the lymphatic system's function of re-absorbing water, removing cellular wastes, and proteins from the fascia.  The manual lymphatic massage strokes move excess body fluid to drain into regional lymph nodes where they are then filtered by the kidneys and excreted via urination.  Lymphatic massage is very relaxing.  Patients often fall asleep during the treatment.

Breast Surgery Recovery

Breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, or breast reconstructive surgery involves incisions into the breast tissues that results in bruises, swelling, and tenderness.  Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) of the breast and thorax area drains fluid from the mammillary glands  into axillary lymph nodes.  Getting regular MLD post breast augmentation helps reduce the incidence of capsular contracture.  Our licensed therapist also provides patient education on self breast massage techniques to break up capsulary adhesions.

Mommy Make Over Recovery

The Mommy Make Over procedure usually involves a tummy tuck with breast lift, and liposuction.  The combination of these multiple procedures all in one setting calls for a longer recovery time.  Our highly trained manual lymphatic therapist will assist you in the recovery process with soft gentle techniques that is soothing for the sore body, and will help you feel rejuvenated.  Welcome to the new you with a healing lymphatic session!  The best part is you won't have to leave the house.  Our mobile therapist will travel to your home or recovery hotel.  We bring all the necessary treatment supplies so you can rest and recover with ease.

Facelift Surgery Recovery

Facelift surgery provides amazing antiaging results.  It may, however, take some time for your body to adjust to the new tight feeling around the face and neck.  But don't worry, getting manual lymphatic massage will help reduce post-op facial pain.  Gentle circular massage strokes will apply mild stretches to the skin to help the fascia get better acclimated.  Additionally, manual lymphatic massage also helps reduce facial swelling and puffiness.  Our highly trained lymphatic therapist will assist in your recovery by draining excess fluid in the face to regional cervical lymph nodes. The session is so soothing and relaxing, most patients fall asleep and take a nap during the treatment.

Tummy Tuck Recovery

Abdominoplasty or "tummy tucks" is a surgical procedure done to remove excess skin on the stomach.  The procedure generally involves an incision from hip to hip across the bikini line.   If you are planning for a tummy tuck, we recommend plan for a minimum of three weeks downtime to optimize your recovery.  Getting manual lymphatic massages 2-3x/week during the initial 3-4 weeks of recovery will dramatically increase your recovery rate by reducing post-op pain and swelling.  Tummy tuck is a big undertaking for the body, as most body movements involves engaging the hip and abdominal muscles.  Your activities of daily living, such as bathing, walking, carrying children, lifting objects, siting and rising all involves using the hip and abdominal area.  With a tummy tuck, these activities are temporarily difficult to perform.  Manual lymphatic massages is an excellent choice for post-op healing as it helps reduce soreness, reduce swelling, optimize skin care, and prevents fibrosis. Plan accordingly for the recovery with an in-home lymphatic massage session.  Our certified therapist will travel to your home, or recovery hotel.  Enjoy the comfort of a home visit in the Los Angeles, Ca area.

Fat Transfer/ Brazilian Butt Lift

Fat transfers to the gluteus is a popular procedure for those would like to add volume to their butt.  A brazilian butt lift (BBL) involves getting liposuction in areas of the body that does not need additional fat, with the fat being cleaned/purified and then injected in the butt for a voluptuous bubbly shape.  As with any major cosmetic surgery, the body will need time for recovery.  Be prepared for soreness, swelling, and bruises post-op.  Bruises tend to diminish after two-weeks, with soreness and swelling lasting anywhere from 3 months to 1 year post-op.  A common phenomenon with BBL procedure is a very hard feeling of the skin on the butt.  Most patients will experience the butt feeling hard like a rock.  This is very common- the hardness will soften within 4-6 weeks post-op.  Getting manual lymphatic massage will help improve your recovery as its soft gentle techniques are healing for the sore body.
