Benefits of Lympathic Drainage Massage
Reduce Swelling
Prevent Fibrosis
Reduce Inflammation
At Harmony Lymphatics, we specialize in manual lymph drainage to promote fluid metabolism for post surgical recovery. Surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, liposuction, mastectomy, hip replacement, knee replacement, or chemotherapy/radiation causes congestion in the lymphatic system. The stagnation of lymph flow causes swelling and tissue inflammation. Lymphatic massage promotes fluid reabsorption and detoxifies the body. It can increase the recovery rate, restore skin softness and suppleness, and help reduce surgical scarring.

What to expect during my first in-home lymphatic massage? Here is what to expect after booking your first lymphatic massage appointment: 1) Expect a reminder text the day prior to your appointment to confirm the location and time of service. 2) An hour prior to your appointment, your therapist will send a confirmation text letting you know they are in route to your location. Now is a good time to let your therapist know if you have any special instructions (i.e. parking, gate code). 3) Expect your therapist to arrive 5 - 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to set up the treatment table. 4) After the treatment table is set up, your therapist will conduct a consultation of your health concerns. This is a great time to let your therapist know your focus areas for the lymphatic massage (i.e. abdominal region for tummy tucks, legs and thighs for liposuctions, breast and axillary for breast augmentation). 5) After the consultation, your therapist will step aside to the nearest restroom to wash their hands, allowing you privacy to disrobe. Your therapist will instruct you to disrobe to your comfort level and to rest on the treatment table with the sheets comfortably covering your body. 6) After washing their hands, your therapist will return to begin the treatment. 7) During the treatment, your therapist will check in with you periodically to make sure the massage pressure is comfortable. You are also encouraged to let your therapist know if you need the pressure adjusted at anytime during the massage. 8) After the treatment is done, the therapist will return to the restroom to wash their hands. After you are dressed and it is clear for your therapist to return to the treatment area, they will come back to pack up the treatment table.

In what position will I lie on the massage table? You will be positioned on the table that is safest, and provides the most support. This varies depending on which surgical procedure you are recovering from. Here is a list of possible positions: Supine (face up): This is the best position when you need to avoid direct pressure on the stomach or breast region. You will be positioned face up on the table with soft pillows under your knees. Placing pillows under the knee will take the pressure off your hip and abdominal region, creating a comfortable resting position. Prone (face down): This is the safest position when you need to avoid direct pressure on the gluteus and back. Side-lying: This is a semi-reclined position, with the body supported by big soft pillows. This position provides the most support for those receiving prenatal massage or recovering from cesarean sections.
